I always wondered what it would look like on the show if Tom Branson & Lady Mary Crawley got together romantically. I know this may seem controversial to some other fans, but Julian fellows himself and considered the pairing which I believe is saying something. Since we saw in the first downtown movie how badly same-sex relationships were treated, it made me wonder how sororate relationships were viewed at the time period of the show and first movie. For those of you who do not know, sororate relationships are when a man engages in romantic and/or sexual relations with the sister of his wife, usually after the death of his wife. Not to mention; The Deceased Wife's Sister's Marriage Act 1907 (7 Edw. 7. c. 47) was an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, allowing a man to marry his dead wife's sister, was passed just four years before the time period when the series started in 1912! An ad for this fanfic will come soon. What do you guys think?
The Downton Exhibition page says Chicago, IL, but Skokie is actually a bit northwest of Chicago (about 20 min from the Chicago Loop by car).
Season 1 Episode 3 when Matthew and Edith were in the chapel.
MATTHEW: Is the screen a Cromwell casualty?
What is a Cromwell casualty?

Radio Times tends to be reliable, but may not completely trustworthy. What do you think?
Charles Grig was Mr Carson's dancing companion who Ms Hughes helped in Season 4 along with Isobel what do you think about her making such a bold act?
Anyone else have trouble with Fellowe’s having Anna arrested cause she stood near where Mr.,Green was killed? I find that premise “RIDICULOUS!” Police don’t arrest someone cause they were at the scene where someone was killed weeks LATER!
To me, the series seems to be a tad cramped with plot-lines between the Nellie Melba concert and the Carsons' wedding. This isn't exactly a criticism of Fellowes' writing, but just something I've noticed. I'm doing my best to bullet-point the key plots in each episode, for clarity’s sake on my next re-watch. However, this is excluding the Bateses' troubles. Plus I haven't re-watched the series in a while, so any corrections/additions would be welcome. Here’s what I have for season 4 so far:
Episode 4.02
(1) Robert and Mary looking into Matthew’s “will”.
(2) Bates helping Molesley, Anna chaperoning Rose to York.
(3) Edna ruining Cora’s dress, then getting Barrow onside.
Episode 4.03
(1) Robert playing poker with Michael Gregson
(2) Anna’s headache during the Nellie Melba concert.
(3) Carson trying to get the staff back up, roping in Molesley as a footman.
(4) Daisy preparing lots of courses amidst Mrs. Patmore’s heart attack.
Episode 4.04
(1) Tom’s being drugged by Edna, and asking Mrs. Hughes for help.
(2) Alfred and Daisy catching Jimmy and Ivy in the boot-room.
(3) Edna handing in her notice, Barrow suggesting Baxter.
(4) Gillingham returns to Downton to propose to Mary.
Episode 4.05
(1) Robert and Mary deciding what to do with Tim Drewe’s tenancy.
(2) Baxter settles in but is dead set against Barrow’s demands.
(3) Daisy comes to terms with Alfred leaving, only for him to stay.
So which one (BARROW or OBRIEN ) wound up with the snuffbox taken from Lord G’s bedroom? We are left with OBrien tearing her room apart looking for it, and Mrs.Hughes commenting on how busy she has been…If it was OBrien why wasn’t she sacked? Why did Fellowes not bring it to a conclusion?
Does Fellowes really want us to see Barrow as a demented jerk when he has him badgering Anna ( “do you think that policeman will be back?”) then Bates -“why do you bother her with those questions?) Barrow-“cause I feel like it) first off any nan who loves his wife would have handed Barrow his head after that exchange;
Not to mention Barrow doing that to Anna after Bates saves him from being dismissed without a reference. Fellowes writing leaves me mystified once again…
How does the police find any relevance in Anna being in London And then Piccadilly (scene of Greens demise) “weeks if not months” AFTER the fact?! Makes NO sense whatsoever! Another piece of Fellowes questionable writing …
